Revolt erupts in Shkodër

Deputy Interior Minister Sokòl Bara sets off on a special mission. Administrative strike in the city. “Teachers, the great forgotten by the government” Zani in the Tirana Court. Smiles over the serious charges Zani in the Tirana Court. Smiles over the serious charges The wave of protest against the criminal policy of the Nano government in the northern region has entered an openly aggressive phase. The circles of the Socialist Party are organizing and carrying out a series of acts of state terror and communist revenge in the northern capital. After hundreds of specialists and officials have been removed from all segments of the public administration and dismissed from their jobs without any legal justification, collective dismissals of teachers and lecturers are now taking place throughout the education system of the Shkodër district, among the most massive Albania has ever known. Today in Shkodër and even in remote villages all teachers who voted against the Socialist Party and Fatos Nano have been dismissed. These dismissals were carried out by direct order of the PS office in Shkodër. In addition, economic life and private business are also being suffocated in Shkodër. Amid poverty and unemployment, vehicles, goods, etc. are being confiscated by the police on political orders, in order to extort the citizens’ last money in the most barbaric way. The aim is clear. The political terror organized by the Nano government seeks to force as many Shkodër residents as possible into emigration, those whom it considers political opponents. The Socialist government itself and the PS branch in Shkodër are becoming the organizers of this terror, which in these first days of October has been directed against teachers, bankers, company directors, merchants and small and medium-sized businessmen. But above all, a total purge of teachers, school principals and educators has begun at all levels of the education system, by direct order of the PS office. This office is personally directing the movement of teachers, replacing state offices. At least 1,200 teachers have been dismissed within a week. Among them, 550 teachers in the Shkodër district have also been fired. They are being replaced by PS activists. According to information, the cutback commissions are also operating in the villages of the district, such as Bërdicë, Bushat, Shirokë, etc. To somewhat reduce the weight of the blame, the government has sent the Deputy Interior Minister Sokòl Bara to Shkodër, a man known as an opponent of the PD and a close associate of Fatos Nano. PD sources say that his trip to Shkodër aims to bring the situation under control and, above all, the protest of the teachers and school principals in the prefecture, who yesterday protested in front of the prefect’s office with slogans such as “Down with political dismissals”, “Teachers, the great forgotten by the government”, “Give us our wages”, etc. Now that the fire of revolt and the hatred of the people of Shkodër against the government has been ignited, the Socialist Party seeks to withdraw somewhat, washing its hands like Pilate. But it will not succeed. Just this week, 1,382 teachers and education officials in the Shkodër district have been removed from their jobs and replaced by Socialists. According to information, these dismissals have been carried out without any legal argument and with the aim of politically cleansing the administration. The other districts of the region are also being affected by this terror. Teachers and educators have been dismissed in Malësi e Madhe and Pukë, while many specialists and clerks in state offices are being purged from their jobs. Let us continue the protest at "Skanderbeg Square"

Let us gather today together at 6:30 p.m. in "Skanderbeg Square". Protest is the only way to put an end to this anti-Albanian government, which, by order of Fatos Nano and through government decisions, is destroying public order. Let us continue the protest at "Skanderbeg Square" against the non-wage policy in a capital city Let us gather today together at 6:30 p.m. in "Skanderbeg Square". Protest is the only way to shatter and overcome the great evil that has been gripping the country. Only through protest can we vent the immense dissatisfaction that has taken hold of and grasped all Albanians. Only through protest can we tell the government and the president that they have left for good and that the people do not recognize their legitimacy. Only through protest can we ask them to solve the many and dramatic problems of the country. Only through protest do we demand that the properties of politically persecuted people be returned to them, that the stealing of funds be uncovered, that crimes be denounced and that former communists of the State Security be removed from any kind of administration of the country. Only through protest can we express our revolt against corrupt and incompetent officials. Today at 6:30 p.m. we will protest against the return of former Sigurimi officers to law enforcement structures. The protest will continue in the following days with the same determination and strength.
